Course Levels

New Continuing Education law concerning hours and course leveling is effective for CE validation periods beginning on or after January 1, 1998.

Basic Level courses are intended for those students who have little or no knowledge of the subject matter or who have little or no prior experience with the subject matter. Continuing Education credit will be granted only to those licensed less than 6 years.

Intermediate Level courses are intended for students who have a basic knowledge of the subject matter or who have limited experience with the subject matter area.

Advanced Level courses are intended for the students who have significant knowledge of the subject matter and who have significant experience in the subject matter area.  Advanced level courses listed are reserved for agents licensed more than 6 years.

Three Year No Repeat Rule

FLDFS rules prohibit receiving CE credit for the same course when taken a second time within thirty six months of the date of the first attendance. This rule applies to the course not the general subject area. Each course has a unique FLDFS course number and if it appears twice on your record, the second attendance will not count toward CE credit. Agents may take more than one course on the same subject or title as long as the FLDFS course number is not the same.
